About Me

Biography

Hatsune Miku, an anime girl with blue hair, wearing street clothes Heya! I'm Chocolate Milq, an experimental programmer, artist, and musician.

I enjoy working on tech projects and artistic endevours. For example, I have always liked programming small games and reparing retro electronics when I can. For fun, I like to watch anime, music reviews, video essays, and storytime animation.

My style takes influence from many sources. I am particularly inspired by shibuya punk, genxsoftclub, and grunge. I like to take inspiration from how other's understand art and incorporate their views into my own creations. I also adore everything that's indie and lofi, it breathes life and personality into people's creations.

I am an enthusiastic advocate for FOSS and community-based projects. I like when people work together to build things that benefit everyone. Four technical principles that I believe in are sustainability, modularity, repairability, and cooperation.

I created this blog because I wanted a free space where I could post and organize my content how I wanted. I am facinated by good design, and I hope to transform this inspiration into reality.

Music

Center car radio playing 'Pictures of Me' by Eliot Smith I mainly listen to shoegaze, indie, blues rock, and jazz, yet I have explored a multitude of other genres as well. Three words to describe my music taste are poetic, bittersweet, and passionate.

I am also interested in music from other cultures and understanding how these styles relate to the people and places who made them. I especially enjoy how the spread of modern electronics influence local cultures and generate new eclectic music scenes.

When it comes to playing music, I haved played both piano and percussion for many years, and I sometimes write electronic demos and UTAU covers. Though, I haven't posted any of them online.
